| If I have a limited amount of time, how do I prioritize which exercises to do first? | ||
The ABC'S concept was designed specifically for the busy pregnant women. Awareness is the first step of the ABC'S. Before starting any exercise, assess how you feel. Based on your self- assessment, you can design an exercise plan that makes the best sense for you, on that particular day. If for example, you are exhausted, it may make sense to sit quietly, get centered, do your abdominals, some light strength training and conclude with relaxation. If on the other hand, you are feeling energized, you may choose to stretch, do some strength exercises and conclude with aerobics. In order to get results, you do not have to do the same routine every time. But, always make sure to do start with a self-assessment and to stretch muscles prior to and after strength training. If you have time to integrate strength training and aerobics, always begin with a light aerobic warm-up (5-10 minutes) and stretch. It is best to engage in strength training next and conclude with your longer aerobic workout followed by a cool down. Close Window |
